I haven't found a series that drew me in like the Caster Chronicles in quite sometime.īeautiful Creatures book #1 is about young Lena Duchannes who has moved in with her Uncle in Gatlin, South Carolina.

However, I kept thinking there has to be a good story somewhere and I'm so glad the movie lead me to these books. This series started with the movie (which I was not a fan of). The highest praise I can give it is that I am recommending it to all of my friends that read, and I know they will love it as much as I have. This series is nothing like what I normally read, but I'm glad I gave it a shot. Collins with a face, making the experience much more enjoyable.

Knowing the faces of the actors cast for the films has allowed me to combine the excellent narration by Mr. In the end, with the conclusion of the series, the thing I am most looking forward to is the films, not because I think they will stick so close to the story (So much of this story takes place inside of the characters heads, it would be impossible), but because I will get to see all of my friends again. He conveys Amma's emotion, Links humor, and Macon's charm equally well, well enough that I worry that the forthcoming film adaptation might come up short, even with the amazing cast that they have lined up. Collins does such a great job with these characters.

The Audiobook versions are fantastic, Kevin T. In a world full of Incubus, Casters, Seers, and Keepers, it's really difficult at times to believe the lengths some of the characters will push their belief that no one around them understands what they are going through, or that they will believe what they say. There are parts that become repetitive, and my only complaint is that none of the main characters (except for Link) seem to be able to tell anyone else what is on their mind. After reading the first book in this series, I devoured the remaining three over a week and a half (Audiobook versions). I'd love to go into more detail, but why use 100 words when 5 will do? The characters are so well fleshed out, that when the time comes to say goodbye to them you will feel as though you are saying goodbye to friends.
